Abstract

Education plays a pivotal role in shaping human capital and fostering economic development, particularly in emerging economies like India. Tamil Nadu, one of the most industrialized and socially progressive states in India, presents a compelling case for examining the interlinkages between education, human capital formation, and economic growth. This chapter provides a comprehensive review of how educational expansion and policy interventions in Tamil Nadu have contributed to the development of a skilled workforce, improved socio-economic indicators, and sustained economic progress.
